Is it a desktop? A workbook? Or a laptop?
It is your smartphone.
Everyone is going mobile and soon the smartphones will take over the desktops and considering the advancement of phones, the day is not far away.
And it is obvious that people have started using mobile-only social media channels more and more.
Instagram (owned by Facebook) is one of the major players in this segment and if you want to get masses to your website, then it’s time to start using Instagram and growing your brand page.
After reading many success stories of users with Instagram, I created my own accounts, did some experiments, and found my own working formula to grow an account on Instagram.
In today’s post, I will share the exact methods I have used to grow multiple brand new accounts to 0 to 1000 Instagram followers in less than 14 days, without buying any shoutouts or bots.
The method is 100% manual (can be automated a bit for free) and doesn’t require any kind of investment. Also, you need to do only 10-20 minutes of work daily.
Once you’ve got 1000 real and active followers, it’s not harder to reach 10k in few months and millions in a year.
Below is the snapshot of my account, I grew to 1000 followers in around two weeks.
How to Grow Your Instagram Account to 1000 Followers in 14 Days or Less
Without taking more of your time, let’s jump right to the method and start growing your Instagram account.
Step 1 – Choose An Interesting Niche
Do you use Instagram to find a job? Business consultant? Or a construction company?
Of course, you don’t. Then why the heck would you assume to be others do that?
Instagram is a fun place to be. We use it to follow the things we like, watch more if it, and share with our friends
Various niches including, celebrities pages, food, traveling, fitness, health, and movie pages yet are popular on Instagram. They have millions of followers with a good engagement rate, just because of the interest of readers.
These are the niches which you should target to achieve better results.
I have created accounts in watches, pets, fashion, jokes, and celebrity niches, and believe me when I say, growing these accounts is a lot easier than other work-related niches.
However, you’re free to choose any niche you prefer. As long as people are interested in the niche, you can grow it big.
Step 2 – Choose A Good Username
The next important thing on a popular page is its username.
Your username should be short, easy to remember, and without much mixings (h3ll0).
However, it may happen that your desired username is unavailable, at that instant, you can use dot(.) or underscore(_) to create a unique name.
Again, don’t repeatedly use them as it will make them look uglier.
Don’t waste your time looking for a perfect username, find a good, simple username which doesn’t look spammy, and you’re good to go.
You can always change it later, so it doesn’t create much of a difference.
Step 3 – Complete Your Profile
Now is the time to look like a serious page, a page which is of great quality, and looks a trusted brand.
And how do you make it look like one?
Use an amazing and related profile picture. Using a real person profile, customized logo or anything which represents your niche is a good idea.
I often try to either create a simple logo using free online tools or get a logo created from Fiverr for $5.
Don’t leave the profile as default which looks really bad and you’ll hardly gain the trust you want. Along with the profile picture, try to write a unique, short, and funny description for your profile.
The best way I have found is to use a related quote which sums up a number of words and also look good.
I also mention that I’ll not sell any shoutout (which eventually I will) and that line stays there till I reach 5K followers.
Fake it, till you make it.
Step 4 – Take Care of The Link In Bio
Instagram allows you to put only a single link and that too in the bio. However, it remains the biggest reason of why many Instagram accounts get banned.
Update: Now you can post links to Instagram daily stories.
Using links to inappropriate sites, affiliate links, or shorten links can create a spam trigger which is not good for your profile.
Try to use clean and complete links in bio and also don’t change it frequently.
No matter what project you’re going to do, you need to put perform your own share of research to get the desired results.
Hashtags in Instagram are more powerful than you think and they can be the ultimate weapon to help you get viral.
But, you need to find the popular hashtags your competitors are using.
Instagram allows you to add up to 30 hashtags to a post and you should use it effectively.
You can simply look into the competitor’s post and scrap the hashtags or use the search feature of Instagram to find related hashtags.
You can also use this free tool for finding popular hashtags based on your niche.
Create a note containing all the hashtags you’ve found, and copy-pastes it to every new post you’ll upload.
I keep adding and removing hashtags as I found new and better one with old ones.
Step 6 – Post Quality Not Quantity
I don’t know if this has only worked for me or everyone is using the same technique.
I prefer to publish less and quality posts rather than uploading 10 posts every single day.
There are only 4 posts I have done in a week but all of them had a very good engagement rate of around 20%.
Whenever a new user follows me, there are excellent chances that he/she will like all the post I have published, seeing the quality and engagement.
It is human behavior that we naturally tend to like things which are popular and others are liking.
Step 7 – Follow Related Users
So now as you’ve some quality post, it is time to grow your followers using the traditional method of following/unfollowing, but with a small twist.
Instead of following hundreds of users of a single big account, we’ll follow 10-20 latest followers of 10 different accounts daily.
Go to the explore tab and look for the posts in your niche. Find the one with good engagement, and visit the poster account.
Manually follow 10-20 recent followers of that account. Make sure that you’re following only real followers with real looking profile pictures.
You don’t have to evaluate every account, a single glimpse of their profile is enough.
Rinse and repeat the method and follow up to 100 users (don’t overdo it, as your account is new and you might get temporarily banned. You can increase this number after few days.)
You’ll get anywhere around 20-30% follow back ratio which I think is great
On the next day, follow 150 users using the same method, and keep increasing the numbers by 50 every day (up to 300 maximum.)
To stay on the safe side, don’t unfollow the users on the same day. Start unfollowing after 3 days and keep the maximum number to 200 unfollows per day.
Step 8 – Like And Communicate With Other Users
After the above step, you would start seeing followers on your profile and there possibly would be a good engagement. Now is time to make them stay and do not unfollow you.
The best way for it is to stay active, responding positively to all the comments you receive, and liking the photos of your followers.
If you’ve liked 2-3 photos of a person then there’s very less chance that he/she’ll unfollow you. Why? C’mon, we all love free likes that we can boast to our friends.

If you’re only focusing on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest, then it’s a high time that you should hop on the Instagram and grow your followers base.
By using the above methods, it won’t be hard for you to grow your account to 1000 followers in two weeks manually without buying shoutouts or using a bot.
The hardest part is to reach first 100 followers, and after that, it’s just a matter of time, till you see one more zero added to that number.
Please note that I don’t guarantee that the method will 100% work for you as there are many constraints like niche, follow ratio, user’s mindset, etc.
